Yesterday was a windy and sometimes cloudy day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but it's still always nice being there.

I went to a few cemeteries today to photograph American flags placed on the graves of veterans for the Memorial Holiday. Sadly, I found very few. At one cemetery I saw just one and the cemetery in this shot had just three. I wish I had taken some flags with me to place on the graves of the forgotten.

I wasn't too happy with the color version of this shot, so I added a texture to it and converted it to black & white.

New growth on a North Carolina farm. Lots of farms here in the Peidmont.

Saw these marigolds at Home Depot and thought they looked so nice that I needed to take a picture of them. I really liked the color combination

18/52 - Every year we have Robins build a nest in one of the trees in the yard. This year they decided to build the nest in a Carolina Jasmine vine that my neighbor grows along their split-rail fence. The nest is about three and a half feet off the ground and the mama Robin seems pretty stressed guarding it since there is a lot of activity from other birds in this area. I hope these little guys make it.

Spent a little time taking pictures down at the railroad tracks. I think this one turned out to be the best of the bunch.
